About LH

LH was founded by Lily Herbert, 21, a French-South African designer who began developing the brand while completing her fashion studies in Paris.

Born in Marseille, Lily later grew up in Cape Town, before returning to France to study fashion design in Paris. Moving between these places shaped much of the visual language behind LH the light, freedom and sun-soaked sensuality of Cape Town meeting a distinctly French sense of elegance and effortless chic.

Rooted in the optimism of the 1960s, the brand draws inspiration from retro-futurism, architecture, interiors and industrial design a time when the future was imagined with excitement, freedom and possibility.

Rather than recreating the past, LH translates this spirit into a contemporary wardrobe. The idea is simple: to romanticize the future the way they did in the 60s. Familiar references are reworked through modern silhouettes, unexpected materials and a distinctly feminine point of view.

The meeting with Fondation de la Mode made it possible to turn this vision into a reality, providing the structure and savoir-faire needed to develop and produce the first LH collection in Paris.

Each piece is designed and developed in Paris and produced primarily to order, allowing the brand to work in limited quantities and avoid unnecessary overproduction. Whenever possible, LH also gives a second life to exceptional materials by upcycling surplus fabrics from leading luxury fashion houses.

LH is built around a vision of fashion that looks forward without losing the emotion, sensuality and optimism of the past — shaped by the places Lily has called home, and always looking towards what comes next.
